Mike Leach
If we lose this bleeping bowl game to Wisconsin and Mike Leach gets fired from Texas Tech, can we please get Leach to be our head coach and fire Shannon's ass (although, I'd offer him the defensive coordinator position). Jeez! This is pathetic! We're way better than this! We are probably the top 5 most talented teams in all of the country and yet we're still making the same mistakes. At some point, it's not a youth issue anymore. They've been playing for two full seasons together now! At some point you gotta start blaming the coach. That's all I gotta say.
we at TSF are not responsible for the content posted in this section. i mean, we're responsible for the good stuff that gets posted in this section. that was totally us. beyond that, we take no responsibility whatsoever.

I agree
Randy Shannon is a better defensive coach and I would much prefer him as defensive coordinator. But with the type of program that we are, I am pretty sure we can get a guy like John Gruden or Charlie Weis. I am not saying that those guys will be our coach, but I am saying that we can get those type of guys that have had successful years. If you look at Leach’s resume, he had only one big year which was last year when he had all of those NFL players on his roster.
I dont belive so.
Seriously, Randy Shannon has been great, and i think hes doing an excellent job rebuilding this team.
Rome wasnt built in a day. It takes a while, and as you can see through the progression he has had through his first 3 season, that next year, expect to be playing in the BCS championship or a BCS bowl.
and i really dont believe that Mike Leach’s spread offense can be a fit for the hurricanes, who are used to more of a pro-style.

Jacory ran the spread offense in high school. He noes how to run it quite well.
And the spread is great if you have a good group of recievers like we do. It would be perfect for this offense!

we are not even close to being one of the top 5 talented teams in the country
at WR, maybe. But that’s it.

Yes we are. I expect them to be competing for the national championship by Jacory's senior year. This is a very talented team. We just need a great coach to guide them. Sorry, but I don't think Randy Shannon is that great of a coach.

I do, too. But RIGHT NOW, we don’t have a single first-round-worthy senior. We’re starting Matt Pipho, Randy Phillips. We will be stocked, and our young talent will get better. But we’re clearly not one of the top 5 talented teams today, is my point.

Fire Shannon???
Coker was handed the keys to the Ferrari, and crashed it. Shannon has brought “The U” into relevance again. People were actually taking about us this year. Our QB actually had his name mentioned in the same sentence as “Heisman”. We have improved each year under Shannon. Sure we had 4 losses this year, but all were to teams that were ranked at some point in the year , and we were competitive in each loss and had a chance to win it in the 4th quarter with the exception of the loss to VT. Furthermore our recruiting has been better than it has been in years. Charlie Weis deserved to be fired. Randy Shannon is our coach until he stops improving.
Don't get me wrong. He's a hell of a recruiter. But he sucks a head coach.
The reason people were talking about us this year had more to do with Mark Whipple and his new offense than anything Randy did. If there was any way we could keep Shannon aboard I would do so (maybe as defensive coordinator). He’s a great recruiter. But as a coach he is borderline bad. His decision making on the sidelines and his usage of time outs is absolutely terrible. And I don’t feel as though the players are 100% mentally prepared for every game which to me is most important in a coach. And what the hell was Sam Shields starting for so long???

And who hired Whipple?
I think eople tend to forget that Randy is a first time head coach. Just give him time to get the depth we need in place and see what happens. If we hadn’t had the rash of injuries we did, we’d finished in the top ten easily. It takes time to build depth.
Do I think Randy is a great X’s and O’s coach? No, not yet, but he is a smart enough coach to surround himself with right people. Give him time. No one comes out of the gate as a great one. There is always growing pains. Besides, who else wants this job? Seriously.
