National Signing Day Fax Thread

The best visual metaphor I can come up with for following recruiting is this:

Whimsy_bike_fly_medium

Star-divide

Yep. Okay, I'll update here as I know things, splatter my thoughts in this space and on our twitter, and you do the same down there. And if at any moment you lose perspective, try CHURCH, with Larry Blustein.

Also, your friendly hard-working SBN Front Pagers are ttracking all the national action for the lulz. Go there.

What we're watching:

WR Ivan McCartney, 6-3, 180, Miramar (9:30 a.m.) WEST VIRGINIA
OT Shon Coleman, 6-7, 285, Olive Branch, Miss. (10 a.m.) OLE MISS
DE Ego Ferguson, 6-3, 275, Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military Academy (10:45 a.m.) LSU
OL Seantrel Henderson, 6-8, 340, Saint Paul (Minn.) Cretin-Derham Hall (3 p.m.)
LB Josh Shirley, 6-2, 225, Fontana (Calif.) Kaiser (4 p.m.)

TE Asante Cleveland, 6-5, 230, Sacramento (Calif.) Christian Brothers Prep MIAMI

I think we can expect that Ego's a possible and we're a dark horse for Seantrel. [Shrugs] It's good to wrap things up, but it makes for a boring signing day.

Waiting to confirm LOI:

All in!

I'm so excited!

Will this be anywhere near as bombastic (drug infused) as your 2008 Signing day thread?

I wish.

That was a great year, what with the Jacory-Oregon story line and the Brandon Harris and Tommy Streeter and Ramon Buchanon nailbiters. This year is so anti-climactic. Everyone’s a sure thing already, barring a Seantrel Henderson shocker or whatever. Sad.

Are we sure that Storm Johnson

Isn’t just another of Clinton Portis’ alter egos?

It is a complete possibility...

because it’s not like Clinton’s focusing on playing in the NFL anymore.

the best metaphor i can think of for today

is the navy seal who parachuted onto the field before the champs bowl holding a wisconsin flag who stumbled and went down face first on the field. replace wisconsin’s flag with ours.

I think

If Bunch and Linder and Clements and Storm Johnson and Kevin Nelson had picked us in a big show today out of the hats of other schools who offered them, people would be — well, not shitting themselves, but happy.

Seantrel Henderson to the U?
According to information we just received, Seantrel Henderson is expected to announce in less than an hour that he will sign with the University of Miami. There have been plenty of rumors flying around today; the source of this tidbit appears to carry some reliability.

Henderson’s announcement is scheduled for 4:30. Let’s see what happens.
