Maybe – The team is young, we need to ride this out.

he’s certainly bringing in more talent than we’ve had here in a long time, but he’s been spectacularly boneheaded at times this year with his insistence on running the offense through dwayne collins. it just ground the offense to a halt on soo many occasions & he never just gave the reigns fully to durand for some reason. but positives: the team went from getting utterly blown out on the road to being competitive in every game. they certainly did not quit on him or on each other. he started giving big minutes to julian gamble who has turned out to be like jimmy graham but with some basketball skills, which is something that the team was definitely missing. & again, the team is really talented, and he’s been able to get players like julian & garrius adams from deep in acc country that duke/unc/wake/clemson etc didn’t want, and he’s been able to develop those guys to the point where they look like really good players. tonight we had by far the best player on the floor (durand) and probably the second best big man (julian). just the in game coaching at times baffles me, but he was really betrayed this year by his supposed best player. i think this is a team that could make a run at the sweet 16 in two years if durand scott sticks around for his junior year (and right now his jump shot isn’t nearly good enough for the nba).

No, fire his ass

It’s the same crap every year. This team has the same problems every year. They shoots too many 3’s, can’t break a press, inconsistent D, no fluidity on offense, can’t win on the road, etc etc.

McClinton covered up a lot of flaws for a couple of years but Haith is being exposed. Everyone says that they are young but thats not entirely true. 3 freaking starters are seniors. A team led by a senior Dwayne Collins and a senior James Dews, then you add Grant and Scott, should be much better than this. This should definitely be a tournament team, especially in an ACC conference that is horrible this year.

Frank Haith is a pretty good recruiter but a very, very average coach. Has Dwayne Collins improved? Minimally. He’s pretty much the same player that he was 4 yrs ago. How many times does he get a limited amount of touches, while we jack up 3’s? I’ve seen enough. Get him out of here.

I miss you Leonard Hamilton. =(

Whoa

Let’s not go overboard asking for Leonard Hamilton again…your one step away for asking Perry Clark to step back into mix.

Ummm...are you kidding me?

We won the Big East and almost made it to the Elite 8 under Leonard Hamilton. Leonard Hamilton is the best coach we’ve had by far.

Not the same

but FSU is having a subpar year as well

with Jodeci. and before McClutch we had Guillermo Diaz. We never attack in the paint enough. At least drive to the basket and draw a foul. Somethng, anything – LOL. I don’t know what his contract status is but…….or maybe he needs better assistants? I don’t know but it is ugly

=)

You’re exactly right. It’s really ugly.

I think Haith is signed through 2013 or something like that. I don’t see them getting rid of him because A) nobody gives a crap about our B-ball team and B) he seems to be doing just enough to keep the administration happy.

i agree with this

“It’s the same crap every year. This team has the same problems every year. They shoots too many 3’s, can’t break a press, inconsistent D, no fluidity on offense, can’t win on the road, etc etc.”

i don’t agree with the criticism re: dwayne. there’s only so many things a coaching staff can do before the senior should go “okay, i’m 22, i’m gonna step it up”. it’s always the same shit with him. and dews played well, but he should be your second best player in the best case scenario. he played about as well as possible this year i thought.

we’ll see next year — if they do the same shit & try and run the offense through the post when the post players are reggie johnson & julian gamble (good players i think, but guys who get points off rebounds & driving & dishing) & not through durand, malcom & garrius (and dequan jones ::crosses chest::) then i might give up on frank.

Yeah some blame should go on Collins of course but how many of those times has he been ineffective because of lack of touches? I don’t know how many times I’ve caught myself screaming at the tv to get the ball to inside to Collins after yet another jacked up 3. We have 2 PGs, man! This is inexcusable.

You don’t think Collins would be a much different player under a real coach, in a real offensive system? I sure as hell do. What about DeQuan Jones? I guarantee you that guy would be better under a good coach. The guy has not gotten even remotely better under this bum. He’s actually regressed.

And next year without Collins is going to be bad. Reggie Johnson looks promising offensively. Don’t hold your breath on Gamble. That guy is garbage. You can wait until next year but I can’t guarantee you a spot on the Fire Frank Haith Bandwagon. That sh*t is filling up.

I hope to God he proves me wrong but I just don’t see it.

On a positive note

our boys did not quit and fought through. Although if this was a real Roy Williams team we would have been blown out. Imagine playing the way we play this year against Hansbrough, Green and Ellington? And no McClutch? Oh wait, nooooooo I am getting a visual……..

And I rest my case.

Great drawn up play by Frank Haith after 2 timeouts. Can anyone tell me what that play was?

And yes that’s Leonard Hamilton comfortably in the NCAA Tournament at 22-8 and with 10 conference wins. Yeah, he’s EXACTLY like Perry Clark. It’s an insult to even mention Hamilton’s name in the same sentence as that bum. And he’s heads and shoulders a better coach than Frank Haith ever will be.
