PrintApparently UM booster Nevin Shapiro is in jail in New Jersey on a Ponzi scheme.Yeah, those always work out for the best. Since he has so much time on his hands, he has decided to write a book outlining various NCAA violations at the U. Prosecutors have alleged that he used stolen funds for his contributions to the U. According to Shapiro ``once the players became pros, they turned their back on me. It made me feel like a used friend.'' He was motivated by ``heartbreak and disappointment on behalf of the university, which I considered to be an extended part of my family.''
Seriously??? they saw him for what he was.

Add this to the crap Coker inflicted on the program. Funny how all the players this guy was close with were Coker players except for Marve, currently the starting QB at Purdue, who holds the title of being the only player arrested in the Shannon era. At the end of the day, what is the NCAA going to strip us of? Our losses in the Heritage and Peach Bowls? Coker’s tenure as coach was a self imposed sanction. Sour grapes it sounds like from this clown Shapiro. I know he can’t implicate Butch Davis and his recruits in all of this…Butch ran a tight ship…have fun dragging players from the 2000-2002 squads into this mess. That’s all I care about.
