Washington and Vernon turning pro
With so many guys leaving, you have to wonder if they know something's up with the NCAA hammer.

I was wondering the same thing, man
There has also been speculation that Golden is pushing some of the older guys out to make room for “his guys” going forward. I’m more cynical than that, though, and I think you are right, the hammer may be dropping soon.

Golden was asked about the possible sanctions
and his response was “from what im being told, the worst is over.”
i hope this is true, and could actually see it holding some water now that tOSU was handed their santions. Miami has self-imposed the breaks off of themselves with the suspensions, bowl bans, etc. they fired anyone that had anything to do with the scandal, and they hired a new, outside coach to help get things back on track. Hopefully all of these things sway the NCAA to uphold the statute of limitations, which will wipe out 90% of that report.

And...annnnnddd!
DeQuan Jones was completely cleared and reinstated yesterday!! The allegations against him were by far the worst and most recent. If there was no wrongdoing by DeQuan, then I feel really good about the situation with the football team. I am feeling cautiously optimistic (Lt. Philip Nolan’s optimism is contagious and already starting to spread).
I think, ultimately, these guys were not willing to compete in Golden’s system, and The U is ready to move on without them.

well lookit you coming around!
i said basically as much when Storm Johnson transferred and a few recruits bailed. these were kids recruited by Shxnnxn and expected to freeload their way through mediocre football and then get paid. Golden wants guys who play hard every time they step on the field, and work hard to stay in shape. vernon and washington were good players, but obviously were ready to get their money and run. thats fine with me.
