The Connect: Sunday Edition

Remember those rumblings that Al Golden was planning on ditching Miami's uniform scheme in favor of the plainer style of the 80s? Well, that's not happening, at least not yet. But, according to the AP's Tim Reynolds, the Canes will be going back to the color combinations of the Miami old, meaning they'll be ditching green pants, orange pants and green jerseys, and, from what I can tell, will not be participating in Nike's Pro Circus shenanigans this season. It is worth noting though that in reaching back for tradition, Golden is seemingly ditching some contemporary fledgling tradition, namely the Canes wearing the highlighter orange pants in Doak Campbell. But, oh well.

As has been speculated, Twitter star Eduardo Clements has been moved back to running back following the departure of Storm Johnson. Clements had been moved to DB, and his work had there had been praised, but RB depth was becoming an issue, and Clements was one of the most heavily recruiting RBs in his high school class. In a related note, Kacy Rodgers has been moved from safety to corner.

Star-divide

According to the Herald's Barry Jackson, young receivers Phillip Dorsett and Allen Hurns have been garnering great reviews from those close to the program. Hurns was a favorite of the old staff, seeing extended action last season, despite never catching a pass. Dorsett could potentially be a breakout star this season if he can find a role as a slot receiver in Miami's offense, which has been a black hole of production ever since Thearon Collier left the program.

Here is Rivals' ACC preview. They have Miami finishing second in whichever division we're in, and have Brandon Washington, Sean Spence and Ray Ray Armstrong on their All Conference First Team.

Earlier this summer, Al Golden sent some of the football players on a scavenger hunt through Coconut Grove. There is video.
