Welcome To The U, Dwayne Hoilett!
3 star DE commit Dwayne Hoilett has announced he will enroll early and join the school on January 24th. Anytime the defense can get stronger and deeper is a good thing. He has received over 20 scholarship offers, but remained strong to Miami and had to make a tough choice between staying for his senior year of high school or leaving. Thanks to some pressure from Golden and staff, he has decided to expedite the process. According to CanesInsider,
“ We will be back! Through hard work and a group effort, the U will be back.”

I for one am thrilled at the work Golden and Co. are doing with this class, not only with the size and quality, but getting kids that can get to school early and get to work.
GO CANES!

Yeah, Golden has done an unbelievable job
Espeically with everything going on with the investigation and the uncertainty of what sanctions might get handed out. It makes me wonder if he knows already we won’t get much and he’s able to tell these kids that other than a couple scholarships being lost, and maybe one more bowl game, that everything will be fine after next year….
this is one thought process
although the counter of it is that we lost so many guys to the NFL (most of which were arguably bad decisions on their part) that something is coming. who knows at this point. looking at both sides, i tend to lean more to the former, because Golden has gotten 30+ kids to commit, and if there was something major coming that wouldnt be happening. If anything, i tend to blame the early departures on most of those guys being “shannon’s kids”, who were more or lessed coached to expect greatness to be given rather than earned.

I agree
Also, it could be that they left early because they had maybe two years left, if that, and with one of those, or possibly both, being years that Miami might be on probation, they figured why not go to the NFL….nothing left to play for at Miami.
