Basketball video question
Hi,
I am sure by now you have seen Luke Winn's article (read here) on the 5 breakout candidates of the upcoming season. He has some intriguing names on the list and I am hoping to get a look at these players before the upcoming season.
Therefore, I am going around to the 5 SB Nation blogs of the teams of the players mentioned in the article looking for archived video from last season. Does anyone here know of any place where video of full games for your team is kept?
Is there a youtube channel or google video or something similar? I have checked all the official school sites and have not seen any full games, but correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks in advance for any help you can give me!
Who the EFFFF is Nevin Shapiro??
Apparently UM booster Nevin Shapiro is in jail in New Jersey on a Ponzi scheme.Yeah, those always work out for the best. Since he has so much time on his hands, he has decided to write a book outlining various NCAA violations at the U. Prosecutors have alleged that he used stolen funds for his contributions to the U. According to Shapiro ``once the players became pros, they turned their back on me. It made me feel like a used friend.'' He was motivated by ``heartbreak and disappointment on behalf of the university, which I considered to be an extended part of my family.''
Seriously??? they saw him for what he was.

TIGER TOOTHGATE 2010

Sam Shields Did It Again - INT vs Colts
Sam Shields was not taken in the NFL draft but determined to prove that he could make it in the league, he set out to prove everyone who passed on him wrong. Well Mr. Shields you are doing a mighty fine job. After returning a 97 yd INT back for a touchdown in Green Bay's final inter-squad scrimmage, Shields is yet proving again that he belongs when he stepped in front of a curl route to pocket his first INT as an NFL rookie with a minute left in the Colts game. Keep up the good work playa!! Its all about NFLU
ESPN: Winners-N-Losers Miami Over OSU
In Case You Missed it on ESPN...This is a recap of OSU wins and loses outcome against the Canes for 2010.
Its that time of year again and looks like ESPN likes Miami Hurricanes over #2 OSU on Sept. 11th in the Shoe! What a game it will be! Lets Get It Canes!!! Unfortunately Desmond Howard who had the priveledge of sitting in on the last scrimmage of the year wasn't sporting the same Orange and Green shaded glasses. He mentioned that our LB is our weakest link, Bailey is all hype until otherwise proven and our WRs are not elite because they do not get enough touches. You can read more about there here.
Jason Fox on Canes O Line and Being in the NFL
"First of all, I should say, it's such a great opportunity and experience to be where I'm at. It's different here because the guys you play with, most of them are married and have kids. Whey they leave work they go spend time with their families. Unlike college, where we were such a close group that when we left, we'd always go out to eat together, hang out together. It's literally a job now. I told Orlando that this is the last year he'll be playing for fun."

Stephen Wesley to Play for Terry Bowden
From the Polk County Ledger (never thought I would type THAT):
The senior defensive end from Bartow High School was dismissed from the Hurricanes football team last month and made sure his message about his time at Miami was loud and clear Monday.
"If I had a chance to do it all over again, I wouldn't play for coach (Randy) Shannon," he said in a phone interview with The Ledger.
Internet reports have said Wesley was released because of reasons ranging from academic issues to the 6-foot-3, 250-pounder being out of shape.
Wesley was quick to dismiss those as well.
"That came down (to) a decision from coach Shannon personally. It was nobody else."
Wesley didn't go into detail about Shannon's reasons.
"I didn't get in any trouble at all. I didn't have any off-the-field issues when I've been down there," Wesley said. "It was really a personal issue between coach Shannon (and I). I guess he had a personal issue dealing with me. For what reason, I don't know."
"It didn't have anything to do with that," he continued. "That came down (to) a decision from coach Shannon personally. It was nobody else."

"When all of this happened, certain coaches on my team, they were mad about what happened and they were mad about coach Shannon releasing me," he said. "Players on the team also were mad about coach Shannon releasing me. That should really let you know ... whether or not it was a good choice or a bad choice."
Wesley hasn't been sitting around stewing about the decision. It took him about two weeks to find a new home at North Alabama with coach Terry Bowden, son of former FSU great Bobby Bowden and the former head coach at Auburn.
"He had just called me one day and he told me, 'I have a full scholarship here waiting for you if you want to be a part of a team,' " Wesley said.
Wesley had a different tune about what he thinks of his new coach.
"Coach Bowden, he's a player's coach," the 22-year-old said. "He's one of those type of coaches where it's easy for you to approach and talk to about any certain situations. He's always talking and always communicating with us."

Throwback Allen Bailey
From a 2008 ESPN article about physical specimens:
Allen Bailey, Miami, DE: A sophomore, Bailey might be the No. 1 on this list next year. The powerhouse Georgia product is one of those rare talents with a background made for legends. Like the time he once killed an alligator with a shovel. Bailey, who wowed Miami coaches with his smooth transition from linebacker to defensive end, was almost as impressive in Miami's spring workouts where he weighed in at 286 pounds with 8 percent body fat and vertical jumped 38.5 inches and power cleaned 375 pounds -- numbers that surely are adding to the Bailey folklore around Coral Gables.
"He's about as freakish as they come," Miami strength coach Andreu Swasey says. "He's like a big Willis McGahee. At almost 290 pounds, the guy is sculpted like a Greek god. I expect him to break a lot of records around here before he leaves. He will be a 41 or 42-inch vertical jump guy, run in the 4.5s or low 4.6 and clean 400."
Also, check out this interesting read from when Bailey was being recruited. Who's Nick Saban?

Randy Shannon, Orator
Cicero. MLK. William Jennings Brian. Randy Shannon... Thought I'd compile some of the interviews done over the last couple weeks so that nobody misses out on any of the insights or electrifying quotes our fearless leader's offered up. You'll laugh. You'll cry (out of laughter).
I feel like this is important... because when Randy Shannon speaks, I listen.
